In this we explored a suitable way to design an ECG machine using 8-bit microcontroller and some discrete components. The proposed system has the instrumentation amplifier for amplifying the biopotentials derived from the body using electrodes. This signal is passed through an analog filter to filter out unwanted signals like baseline wander, power line noise, etc. The microcontroller is used to digitally process the data for display on the LCD screen or to provide ECG storage for future use to the data logging unit. Finally we searched for a way to transfer the data via GSM model to the physician.
